Frequently asked questions
Is the DDoS protection always-on?
Depends on the line. Standard VPS uses reactive mitigation: when an attack hits, filtering kicks in automatically. That's fine for most workloads, but the detection window can cause a brief blip. Shield DDoS VPS routes all traffic through the scrubbing layer 24/7 with no detection gap, which is what you want for game servers, web shops, and anything customer-facing.
Which games does Shield protect?
We maintain 28+ application profiles including FiveM/RedM, Minecraft, Rust (PC and Console), DayZ, ArmA, SA:MP, MTA, alt:V, Palworld, TeamSpeak, and generic engines like Valve GameNetworkingSockets and QUIC/HTTP3. If your protocol isn't listed, we add a profile on request. Tuning support is included with every Shield plan.
Where is the infrastructure located?
Langen, Germany, a carrier-neutral facility just south of Frankfurt Airport, in the Frankfurt metro area. It runs redundant dark fiber into Equinix FR4-FR8 and the Digital Realty campus in Frankfurt am Main, so you get the routing of one of Europe's best-connected hubs with single-digit-millisecond latency across the region.
Do I get root access?
Yes, on every plan. Our servers are unmanaged by default: full root, install any OS or stack you want. We take care of the hardware, the network, and the uptime. Everything above that is yours.
How fast is deployment?
We automate provisioning, so your VPS is typically online in under 60 seconds after payment confirmation, with credentials waiting in your client portal.
How does billing work?
Prices are in EUR, billed through our client portal. 20% Austrian VAT applies for AT consumers; EU businesses with a valid VAT ID are reverse-charged. You can pay monthly, with no long-term commitment.
